  1. I’m wonder what the annual budget is for the city? That missing money is a large chunk of change for a small municipality.

    • It’s about a $6 million annual general fund budget. In a previous story, I contextualized it thusly: This year, Mount Rainier cut its property tax rate by one cent, which reduced that budget by about $43,000. So, $135,000 is equivalent to about a three cent reduction in the property tax rate.
